Long touted as an up and coming area, Meanwood has now started to fulfill its potential and in the last few years has seen growing numbers of bars, restaurants and cafes setting up roots, and increasing numbers of rental properties. With Waitrose also joining the party and plenty of recreational options on your doorstep, Meanwood’s popularity continues to grow alongside its accommodation options which include a large number of professional rentals and a smaller number of student houses in Meanwoood.
Meanwood also boasts good access to the city and surrounding areas, a growing retail park and a number of small independent shops. For those of you planning a visit to Meanwood with children (or children at heart!), there’s the Meanwood Valley Urban Farm to walk around; just make sure you stay out of spitting distance of the Alpacas!
There’s also plenty of green space alongside your accommodation with the popular Meanwood Park and great walking and cycling along the Meanwood Valley Trail, 7 miles of well marked pathways weaving through North Leeds. Meanwood has a nice mix of housing choices and is also within walking distance into Headingley (if you fancy a change) and has great access to the city via bus. Student houses in Meanwood also offer a good option for those University students seeking a slightly quieter location to nearby Headingley. For professional renters in Meanwood, accommodation options are vast with new developments continuing to add to the housing mix.
On the social side, hip new bars and restaurants mingle with well established favourites and Meanwood offers a couple of Leeds’ best restaurants (ask us for our recommendations!), some great coffee shops and pubs popular with families and young professionals.
