Harewood House, Leeds, 28th - 30th May 2016
The Great British Food Festival returns to Harewood House for its tastiest year to date!
Why not take part in one of the Man V Food challenges! We’ve all seen it on TV, but now’s your chance to take up the challenge (if you dare!). Previous challengers downed a chilli vodka shot, then scoffed a foot long chilli sausage, smash and gravy followed by a cleansing chilli sorbet!! Oh, with a half pint of cider too! Please note, this part of the event is back by popular demand and spaces are offered on a first come first serve basis and fill up incredibly fast!
Or for the budding Chefs a variety of excellent chefs from local restaurants and beyond will be demonstrating how it’s done through the Day. The line-up is yet to be confirmed, however previously Betty’s Cookery School, Richard Cullen, Mark McGuiness and many others have offered their advice and tips at the event. On top of this, BBQ demonstrations will be taking place this year with BBQ Champ Tony Smith.
If you fancy free entry to the event you could always bake a cake for the ‘Cake-Off’! This year not only will the competition will be judged by the judging panel, the general public will also have their say. The categories are as follow Victoria Sponge (Saturday), Chocolate Delicious (Sunday) and Your Fabulous Favorite (Monday). The best part of this completion is that once the scores are in you are free to sample your favourite!
On top of that there’s live music throughout the day and stalls full of yummy treats and lovely gifts. Let’s Hope the Sun shines!
