We all know how many times we set New Year's resolutions for ourselves with the best intentions. However, how many of you have managed to stick to your goals for the year? I know in the past I have told myself I wanted to achieve something, but then dropped off after a week or two! More often than not - it's just because we lose sight of that goal. Whether you’re looking to eat a little healthier, be more active or perhaps shed a few pounds - keeping it at the forefront of your mind is the key to reaching your goals this year!
With that said - I've prepared my top tips on how I prepare myself & my clients for a successful year.
Take a moment to sit down and have a proper think about what you’d like to achieve in 2019. Writing down your goals is paramount, as it allows you to put them into a physical format that you’re less likely to forget or ignore. You could pop them in a diary, write them on a piece of paper to stick onto the fridge or write them in your notes & screenshot them – use this photo as the background on your phone!
Ask yourself the following:
1. How do you feel about yourself currently?
2. What is the outcome you want from achieving this goal?
3. When you achieve it, how will that change your everyday life?
Use the answers to these questions as motivators for staying on track!
Now, goals can sometimes feel very overwhelming or miles away. So, to stop yourself from making excuses, make it a SMART goal
Break down your goal into bite-size pieces - this means that every week you should complete a task that brings you one step closer to achieving your ultimate goal.
For example, if your goal is to build a healthy lifestyle & to lose some weight this year:
Month 1: Sustain a Calorie Deficit
Week 1 - Aim to eat more whole fresh foods cooked at home, less packaged foods or takeaways
Week 2 - Fill my plate predominantly with vegetables with a side portion of protein & carbohydrates
Week 3 - Calculate my Total Daily Energy Expenditure (www.iifym.com) to create a calorie & macro daily goal
Week 4 - Track all my meals this week on My Fitness Pal
Try something new that you've always wanted to do.
Train with a friend: this will make it easier to start a routine you can stick to.
Classes are a great way if you are a complete newcomer: Legs, Bums and Tums, Pump, Cycle, Combat, Step, Yoga are just a few examples but there will be something for everyone and you can train with friends at the same time!Back to blog

In a highly competitive category, this agency should be delighted with itself; the judges were extremely pleased to rewards its efforts with the gold. With a focus on students and young professionals the attitude and communication is well tailored to this audience. The team has an established presence across the social media platforms and uses social networking sites extremely well. The website is very good indeed and has a number of features expected by the young and tech savvy target audience. The directors value their staff and there is a very good mentoring scheme in place to develop negotiators into senior staff. As can be expected in student sharing tenancies, they are well versed in dispute resolution and manage to remedy any issues without legal recourse, so all parties come away happy with the results.”
